Meet imPOSSIBLE

Co-directors Charlie & Gabby

CHARLIE BUNKER AKA BETHESUN

Charlie is a Creative Producer; who specialises in outdoor arts, immersive and site-specific events.

She teaches on a Masters in Creative Event Management for Falmouth University/ Cambridge Online Learning and she used to work at WildWorks for 10 years until 2021. She knows a fair bit about funding and arts strategy from 4 years working at Arts Council England National Office before that.

But mainly Charlie is a passionate theatre maker and dramaturg for devised work; who likes all things current affairs, global, thematic, boundary pushing, big, experimental and existential. She is excited by cross-art form, contemporary storytelling and is driven by creating a fulfilling process; it’s an opportunity to play and find unexpected wonder.

The problem with Charlie is that she can get passionate about a paper bag and finds herself connected to many things. But as long as you can cope with her taking a few days (ok may be a couple of weeks) to get back to an email - she always delivers. In fact, she really hates being bound to email - please - just phone her.

Her super skill is her imagination. She can see big things and visualise the full ambition of a tiny seedling idea. It’s rather cosmic. Some people are skeptical of this unique gift… that’s ok… jog on…and/ or watch this space.

Charlie mentors and supports a range of artists and aspiring arts professionals.

She is 1 sixth of KERPOW - A feisty female co-operative celebrating the creative power and potential of women in Cornwall.

She’s also a single mother of two small children and is driven by finding new ways of doing things that promote joyful juggling of home and work ambitions.

GABBY VAUTIER AKA FLUFF&HUSTLE

Gabby Vautier is an experienced independent theatre and festival producer working Locally, Nationally and Internationally with organisations including Young Vic, Barbican, Manchester International Festival and Kneehigh, Fertility Fest and Punchdrunk.

She approaches independent producing like The Apprentice and loves a challenge. She’s a Del Boy, excited about finding the next big thing - whether that’s a person or a project. She does a lot of mentoring and producing support and is an associate of NSDF. Fundamentally she’s passionate about rebalancing the industry and making routes in more accessible.

Gabby takes huge responsibility for things and people and will work like a lunatic to make stuff happen. She’s also silly and naughty and if she feels controlled or undermined will get chippy.

She works with scripts, writers and directors and knows if a play or artist is good from the first page or conversation. She once wrote a degree programme for Guildhall in Performance & Creative Enterprise which was random (and hard)

Gabby has a heat seeker for undiscovered heroes and total arseholes.

A proper theatre geek Gabby loves stories. Loves the magic of being pulled into a world. Loves creatives, actors, ushers, audiences, costumes. Loves the moment the lights go down on that first preview. She utterly loves people. She tries really hard not to be an arsehole.

She is a mum of 7 year old IVF twins and is miffed that a big shot producer apparently once said you can’t be a mum and a producer. You definitely can.
